Senior - External Reporting 

Location: Must live in the Tampa Bay, FL area 

Reporting to: Executive Director of Financial Reporting 

 

 

Position Overview:

Trulieve, a leading company in the cannabis industry, is looking for a Senior – External Reporting to fill a key role within the Finance and Accounting team. The Senior – External Reporting will be responsible for assistance in preparation of SEC filings including the 10-Qs, 10-K, Proxy Statement, and other filings, as applicable, posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations for responsible areas (i.e., debt and equity), preparing and documenting SOX controls, preforming analysis on account activity, and preparing commentary. The role will closely interface with the other Finance and Accounting functions as well as functions across the organization and report to the External Reporting Manager.

 

This position is a hybrid role, within driving distance of the Clearwater, Florida office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of 10-Q, 10-K, Proxy, and other SEC filings, including financial statements, footnote disclosures and MD&A to ensure timely and accurate filings in accordance with SEC deadlines.
  • Responsible for working with the external reporting manager to prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Assist and review financial-related press releases, including GAAP and Non-GAAP EPS considerations.
  • Maintenance of share-based compensation records and preparation of related journal entries.
  • Assist with accounting for new and recurring debt and equity transactions including the maintenance of the debt and equity rollforwards, earnings per share, and share-based payment expense.
  • Assist with technical accounting research and documentation, as needed, on topics including but not limited to acquisitions, divestments, variable interest entities and consolidation, and equity and debt accounting.
  • Keep abreast of all new accounting and reporting regulations while assisting with tracking of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Preparing and reviewing work papers in a clear and concise manner to support SEC filings and satisfy SOX requirements.
  • Complete U.S. GAAP disclosure checklists.
  • Assist in implementing and documenting accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Assist in coordination of accounting policies & processes (for related areas, specifically external reporting).

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
  • At least 2 plus years of progressive experience in public accounting or a mix of public accounting and industry.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with technical research.
  • Experience working with external auditors.
  • Knowledge of SEC requirements and internal controls/SOX requirements.
  • Will require extended hours during peak accounting cycles (e.g., during preparation of the 10-Qs and 10-K).
  • CPA or CPA eligible.
  • Demonstrated success working both individually and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-oriented environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to work effectively cross-functionally.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (i.e., pivot tables, V-lookups, etc.).
  • Self-starter and able to quickly learn new responsibilities.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screening.

 

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
