Senior Tax Accountant
Department: Tax
Location: Tampa / Clearwater, FL
Reports to: State & local Tax Supervisor/Manager
Position Summary:
The senior tax analyst will report to the State & Local Tax Supervisor/Manager. This position requires a tax professional with intermediate excel skills who is flexible, deadline driven, and has a strong attention to detail with an ability to operate in a constantly changing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with audit requests by analyzing data and providing documentation
- Respond to inquiries from taxing authorities as well as from internal departments and external business partners
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to management for minimizing tax liabilities
- Ability to manage a project
- Provide technical advice and support to business partners regarding indirect tax inquiries
- Assist with Tax return preparation and filing with focus on review and analysis
- Perform technical research to document findings and stay informed of tax law changes affecting the business
- General ledger balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of tangible property tax
- Research nexus requirements to ensure compliance
- Prepare accrual schedules to support the accounting team
- Other duties as assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including pivots and v-lookups
- Experience using tax software and ERP systems
- Minimum of 3 years of finance/accounting experience
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize assignments and manage workload based on internal and external deadlines
Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
