Job Title: Associate Creative Director

Role Summary
The Associate Creative Director, Pods is a design-first creative leader responsible for owning end-to-end creative development within their assigned pod — Medical, Recreational, or Florida — rolling up to the national creative vision set by the Senior Director, Creative. This individual serves as the creative north star for their pod, setting the standard for branding, product storytelling, and all customer communications across digital and in-market channels.
This role leads full 360 creative management across branding, product, customer communications, rewards, website, and mobile app experiences — ensuring every touchpoint is cohesive, elevated, and consistent with the enterprise brand while reflecting the distinct audience, tone, and compliance needs of the Medical, Recreational, or Florida pod they lead. Beyond craft, the Associate Creative Director is a champion of transformational creative technology, operationalizing creative to move faster and leading the adoption of generative AI to accelerate the production of static, video, motion, copy, and production assets at scale.

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end creative development for your assigned pod — Medical, Recreational, or Florida — driving campaign development from concept through execution while rolling up to the national creative vision established by the Senior Director, Creative.
- Serve as the creative north star for your pod — setting the vision and standard for branding, product storytelling, and all customer communications, tailored to the distinct audience and compliance requirements of your Medical, Recreational, or Florida market.
- Lead full 360 creative management across branding, product, customer communications, rewards, website, and mobile app channels, ensuring a cohesive and elevated brand experience across every customer touchpoint.
- Translate national brand standards and campaign frameworks into pod-relevant creative that reflects the distinct consumer, tone, and regulatory context of your Medical, Recreational, or Florida market while maintaining enterprise brand consistency.
- Direct art direction and creative execution for pod-level campaigns, product launches, promotions, and retail initiatives with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- Own transformational creative technologies that operationalize creative production — improving speed-to-market, collaboration, and efficiency across your pod’s creative output.
- Lead the adoption and integration of generative AI across the creative workflow, embracing AI-assisted tools to accelerate the development of static, video, motion, copy, and production assets.
- Establish and maintain creative quality controls, review processes, and approval workflows that ensure all market creative adheres to enterprise brand guidelines and visual standards.
- Partner closely with Digital, Brand, Retail, Customer Experience (CX), and Compliance teams to align creative strategy with business priorities and drive measurable outcomes.
- Provide consistent, high-quality creative feedback and mentorship to designers and content creators, elevating both creative quality and individual craftsmanship within your pod.
- Partner with peer Associate Creative Directors across the Medical, Recreational, and Florida pods to share standards, maintain cross-pod consistency, and ladder up to a unified national creative vision.
- Serve as a cross-functional leader and creative partner to teams across Marketing — including Digital, Growth, Brand, and Customer Experience — ensuring creative is integrated, aligned, and driving shared business outcomes.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships across Marketing functions, bringing the creative lens into planning early and championing a unified, cross-team approach to campaign and channel execution.
- Deeply understand who the customer is by actively engaging with data and insights — partnering with analytics, CRM, and CX teams to ground creative decisions in a clear understanding of the customer, their behavior, and their journey.
- Use customer data and performance insights to inform, test, and optimize creative, ensuring work is not only beautiful but measurably effective in-market.
- Champion a culture of creative excellence, innovation, and speed — holding your pod’s creative output accountable to the visual distinctiveness and relevance of Trulieve and its brands.
- Continuously monitor emerging design trends, digital experiences, and creative technologies to keep your pod’s creative modern, culturally relevant, and customer-centric.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Advertising, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field.
- 8–10+ years of progressive creative experience with a strong foundation in graphic design, visual communication, art direction, and brand identity development.
- 3+ years of experience leading creative development and mentoring designers or content creators.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across branding, digital design, campaign development, content creation, and omnichannel marketing.
- Extensive experience directing creative across web, mobile applications, email, social media, CRM, rewards, and digital customer experiences.
- Demonstrated experience operationalizing creative through modern creative technologies and workflow tools to improve speed and efficiency.
- Hands-on experience adopting and leveraging generative AI and AI-assisted creative tools across static, video, motion, copy, and production.
- Strong understanding of modern design systems, UX/UI principles, and digital-first creative development.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and rapidly evolving business environment.
Preferred
- Experience in retail, consumer packaged goods, hospitality, lifestyle, health and wellness, cannabis, or other high-volume consumer marketing environments.
- Experience supporting multi-market, multi-brand, or audience-segmented (e.g., medical vs. recreational) creative development within a matrixed organization.
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, motion graphics software, digital asset management systems, and AI-enabled creative platforms.
- Experience contributing to creative transformation, rebranding, or creative modernization efforts.
- Strong understanding of emerging design trends, consumer behavior, and cultural relevance in modern marketing.
- Flexibility of hours – some nights and weekends required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily office-based environment involving prolonged periods of computer work, creative reviews, presentations, and team collaboration.
- Occasional travel may be required for retail visits, photo and video productions, vendor meetings, market visits, and company events.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and creative initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
