Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Business Unit: IT Infrastructure

Location: Remote

Reports To: Manager, Cloud Infrastructure

The Cloud Engineer supports the reliability, performance, security, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Trulieve's cloud-hosted platforms and business-critical applications across AWS, managed hosting environments, New Relic observability, load testing, deployment validation, and Snowflake platform services. The role translates telemetry into actionable insights, contributes to incident response, develops dashboards and reporting, and automates repeatable operational processes using scripting, APIs, Microsoft Copilot, Snowflake CoCo, and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Operations & Platform Support

  • Support the provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of reliable, secure, and cost-efficient AWS infrastructure, including compute, storage, databases, networking, DNS, load balancing, and identity services, as well as other cloud and managed hosting platforms as assigned.
  • Implement and validate infrastructure changes across development, QA, staging, and production environments in accordance with change-management and release processes.
  • Create and maintain Azure DevOps work items and vendor support requests for cloud, monitoring, logging, CDN, S3, and environment work, keeping them current with findings, blockers, dependencies, and status.
  • Coordinate technical activities with Webscale and other providers, verify implementation results, and document outstanding issues.

Monitoring, Observability & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain New Relic dashboards, alerts, logging integrations, and application-performance views; onboard new or migrated infrastructure, validate agents and log forwarding, and continuously improve alert quality, coverage, and escalation routing.
  • Monitor infrastructure and application health using New Relic, AWS CloudWatch, Performance Insights, metrics, logs, traces, and synthetics; analyze trends, errors, capacity constraints, and regressions and communicate actionable findings to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Produce recurring infrastructure KPI reporting that includes application, host, database, customer-experience, error-rate, and capacity metrics with trend indicators.

Performance & Load-Test Support

  • Monitor infrastructure and application behavior during load tests; document observations, bottlenecks, and capacity concerns, and provide an infrastructure assessment of release risk and readiness.
  • Participate in pre-load-test checklist reviews, confirm infrastructure readiness, and coordinate test notifications and schedule changes with internal performance teams and approved external providers.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop scripts, API integrations, workflow automations, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD improvements for recurring reporting, load-test notifications, monitoring onboarding, alert routing, environment and deployment validation, and other operational checks, maintained in source control under peer-review and change-management standards.
  • Use Microsoft Copilot, Snowflake CoCo, APIs, and approved AI-assisted technologies to summarize operational information, identify recurring patterns, accelerate troubleshooting, and reduce repetitive work.

Incident Response & Troubleshooting

  • Investigate and resolve cloud, application, database, and performance incidents, serving as an escalation resource for P1/P2 issues and using New Relic telemetry to compare pre- and post-change behavior and identify anomalies.
  • Participate in Post-Incident Reviews and root-cause analysis; document contributing factors and implement resulting monitoring, alerting, runbook, and automation improvements.

Security, Governance, Reliability & Cost

  • Apply cloud-security best practices, including least-privilege IAM/RBAC, encryption, secure networking, resource tagging, privileged-access logging, and configuration governance.
  • Review cloud resources, permissions, configurations, and monitoring coverage to identify security, compliance, operational, or cost risks, including CDN and managed-hosting controls such as caching, request filtering, bot detection, and IP controls.
  • Evaluate utilization, availability, scalability, and capacity to recommend adjustments, and contribute to cost governance through tagging standards, cost-anomaly review, and identification of idle or inefficient resources.

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Create and maintain runbooks, support procedures, troubleshooting guides, technical diagrams, change records, and operational documentation.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure, eCommerce, application engineering, mobile, data, QA, security, network operations, product teams, and external providers, connecting infrastructure behavior to application reliability and business impact.
  • Participate in Cloud Center of Excellence activities and promote standardized architecture, observability, security, automation, and FinOps practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems administration, DevOps, observability, technical operations, or related discipline.
  • Cloud Platform & Networking: Working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, managed databases) and networking concepts including DNS, routing, subnets, security groups, firewalls, load balancing, and HTTP traffic.
  • Observability: Hands-on experience with New Relic or a comparable enterprise monitoring platform and experience analyzing metrics, logs, alerts, dashboards, and performance trends.
  • Automation: Experience with scripting, APIs, workflow automation, or Infrastructure-as-Code using technologies such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
  • Operations: Ability to participate in incident response, planned deployments, release validation, and load-test activities that may occur outside normal business hours.
  • Communication & Ownership: Ability to translate technical evidence into clear conclusions for technical teams, management, vendors, and business stakeholders, with strong documentation, follow-through, and a team-first, proactive approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Platforms & Tools: Experience with New Relic APM, Infrastructure, Logs, NRQL, alerts, and synthetics; RDS Performance Insights, Aurora MySQL, CloudFront; or managed hosting platforms.
  • Application & Performance: Experience supporting high-volume eCommerce platforms (Adobe Commerce/Magento) and load testing with NeoLoad or comparable tooling.
  • Automation & Delivery: Familiarity with Snowflake, Microsoft Copilot/Copilot Studio, Snowflake CoCo, Git/GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps pipelines, Ansible, or containers.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, New Relic Certified Observability Practitioner, or comparable certification.
  • Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent relevant experience and technical training.
