Job Title: Director, Data Insights

Role Summary

The Director of Data Insights is responsible for transforming enterprise data into actionable business intelligence that drives revenue growth, operational efficiency, customer engagement, and strategic decision-making. This leader oversees analytics, reporting, business intelligence, forecasting, and insight generation while partnering closely with executive leadership across Operations, Retail, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Technology.

The role blends strategic leadership with technical expertise to ensure data is converted into measurable business outcomes and competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

Analytics & Insights Leadership

• Lead enterprise analytics strategy and insight generation.
• Translate complex data into executive-level recommendations and business actions.
• Develop frameworks for measuring performance across financial, operational, customer, and commercial KPIs.
• Deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Own enterprise reporting platforms, dashboards, and scorecards.
• Establish reporting standards, KPI definitions, and data governance processes.
• Drive adoption of self-service analytics throughout the organization.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability across all reporting assets.

Forecasting & Advanced Analytics

• Lead predictive analytics and forecasting initiatives.
• Develop models related to customer behavior, churn, retention, demand planning, pricing, marketing effectiveness, and operational performance.
• Support strategic planning through scenario modeling and trend analysis.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Effective partnership with executive leaders to identify opportunities and risks.
• Serve as the primary advisor on analytics-driven decision making.
• Present findings to senior leadership, board members, and business stakeholders.
• Translate analytical findings into clear business actions.

Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of analysts, BI developers, and data scientists.
• Establish priorities and performance objectives for the team.
• Foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, accountability, and business partnership.

Data Governance

• Lead data governance initiatives and data quality programs.
• Establish business definitions, standards, and controls for enterprise data assets.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
• 8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years leading analytics teams.
• Experience supporting executive leadership and enterprise-wide decision making.
• Proven success delivering measurable business outcomes through analytics.
• SQL (advanced proficiency)
• Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent visualization platforms
• Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or modern cloud data platforms
• Statistical analysis and predictive modeling
• Data warehousing and data governance concepts
• Advanced Excel and business modeling
• Flexibility of hours – some nights and weekends required.
• Must be able to pass a level 1 and level 2 background check and drug screening.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

• Occasionally required to move/traverse throughout entire facility, including tight spaces; accurately communicate and exchange sensitive information and ideas with others, including members of the public; observe/inspect details at varying ranges; operate computing devices

• Must have visual and auditory acuity with or without aids to perform all functions of the position
• Frequently required to remain in a seated position

Work Schedule

40+ hours weekly with flexible hours and travel up to 10-20% of work schedule to support the needs of the business.
