IT Asset Management Coordinator Job Description 

 

Department: Information Technology 

Reports to: Lead IT Logistics Specialist FLSA Status:  

Site Hours: 40+ 

Location: North Monroe (onsite) 

 

Role Summary 

 

The IT Asset Management Coordinator plays a key support role in the IT Department, contributing to the effective management, tracking, and fulfillment of IT assets and logistics. Based at our North Monroe site, this coordinator will report directly to the Lead IT Logistics Specialist and collaborate closely with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless operations. This position is ideal for an individual passionate about asset management, technology logistics, and operational excellence as the organization continues to grow. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Manage the inventory of IT equipment and devices, including but not limited to: laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, scanners, routers, switches, servers, and peripherals.  
  • Ensure proper storage, accurate labeling, and organized tracking for equipment. 
  • Utilize barcode scanners, RFID tags, and software tools to track assets, update records, and maintain comprehensive reports. 
  • Assist in projects involving procurement, deployment, installation, configuration, maintenance, and disposal of IT equipment and devices, ensuring completion according to specifications and timelines. 
  • Support the repair process for devices that are damaged, malfunctioning, or obsolete, verifying compliance with quality and security standards. 
  • Set up and image equipment to prepare for tickets and projects based on operational needs. 
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to facilitate orders, deliveries, and installations. 
  • Assist the Lead IT Logistics Specialist with reporting, sorting, and corrections around data within our Asset Management tools and systems 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using logistics and asset management software. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and support resolution of asset-related issues. 
  • Work within SAP to process orders for IT equipment for projects, replacements, tickets, and confirming delivery. 
  • Create and maintain documentation around processes and procedures as needed

 

Skills and Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred. 
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience using asset management software in a logistics or IT environment. 
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Familiarity with IT equipment and devices, with basic troubleshooting ability. 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Flexible and adaptable, willing to travel and work on-site as required. 
  • Experience with SAP, Excel, eMaint, Zendesk, and/or Entra/Azure is preferred 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25lbs to at least 5 feet and to carry such weight for a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance. 
  • Must be able to work seated/standing for extended periods, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed to complete tasks. 
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, wear PPE as required, and tolerate exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions. 
  • Visual acuity for reading, computer work, and detailed inspections, with or without job aids. Clear vision at distances up to 20 feet or more in various lighting conditions. 
  • Ability to communicate verbally at conversational levels with co-workers and vendors within a moderate noise environment. 

 

Work Schedule 

 

  • 40+ hours weekly, with flexible hours based on department needs. 
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays required. 
  • 20-30% travel expected.
