Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Department: Facilities

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

FSLA Status: Exempt, Salary

Location: Tallahassee, FL

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure site planned maintenance and repairs are completed. The Maintenance Supervisor will direct the maintenance departments daily workflow. They will be responsible for relaying any facility or personnel issues up to the Regional Maintenance Manager. This job will have a hands-on element as well as a supervisory element. 

 

KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a driving force for safety and the use of the lockout tag out procedure on site
  • Supervise a diverse team of maintenance personnel to keep the facility in excellent condition
  • Work with the team to make improvements to site systems and maintenance programs
  • Work and direct the troubleshooting and repairing equipment to include HVAC systems, Dehumidifiers, High intensity lighting/lighting systems, Auto irrigation systems, and Reverse Osmosis Units
  • Complete work on electrical systems to include 480v, 220v, 208v, 120v, and low voltage power
  • Account for materials used by utilizing sign out logs and other material tracking procedures put in place
  • Supervise the completion of Preventative Maintenance on site equipment and facilities per the PM system that is in place.
  • Follow instructions and collaborate with management to complete facility improvement projects
  • Experience with bending and installing conduit/new electrical runs
  • Work through issues with building or facilities main structures
  • Use power tools/hand tools to fix issues with equipment and complete projects
  • Work through trouble tickets/trouble calls to ensure the grow team’s equipment is working properly
  • Work with CMMS/Reliability team to account for maintenance completed
  • Maintain and troubleshoot auto-irrigation and room monitoring equipment
  • Communicate with other facilities maintenance team members or management to determine possible problems or identify possible issues before they occur
  • Occasional grounds keeping work
  • Improve understanding and expertise in the field by attending department training
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable communicating through various channels
  • 2 years of managerial experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Building, Facilities, Cultivation, or Industrial Maintenance
  • Experience with PLC’s and Building Management Systems
  • Mechanical and HVAC experience is highly preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft office, outlook, etc.
  • Strong manual dexterity

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
