Position Title: Manager, IT PMO

Reports to: Director, IT PMO

Department: IT, Enterprise Applications

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Position Summary:

The Manager, IT PMO is a tremendous opportunity to help build transformational program management processes and lead cross-functional teams at a company on an explosive growth path with modern, cloud-based IT applications.

As the Manager, IT PMO, this role helps establish how projects and programs are planned, run, governed, and reported on across the enterprise. This leader works closely with IT and business leadership to establish project management practices that govern corporate strategic initiatives, provide the appropriate structure and visibility to IT projects and department portfolios, and strengthen consistent governance, informed decision-making, and business outcomes across Trulieve.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership & Enterprise Alignment:

  • Partner with senior business and technology leaders to help shape priorities, clarify outcomes, and translate strategy into coordinated execution.
  • Project manage executive-sponsored strategic initiatives from definition through outcome realization, including efforts that are highly visible, confidential, cross-functional, or evolving in scope.
  • Build and sustain stakeholder alignment across multiple teams, functions, and levels of leadership; surface competing priorities and facilitate timely resolution.
  • Synthesize complex information into clear recommendations, decision points, and executive-ready communications.
  • Anticipate organizational impacts, interdependencies, and delivery constraints, and advise leaders on practical paths forward.

Governance, Portfolio & Program Support:

  • Support the development, maturation, and consistent application of governance models that create clear decision rights, accountability, escalation paths, and visibility across initiatives.
  • Provide strategic coordination and governance support across portfolios, programs, Tier 1 projects, and special initiatives, adapting the management approach to the scale, complexity, risk, and pace of the work.
  • Help establish and facilitate effective operating rhythms and leadership forums that enable prioritization, risk-based decisions, outcome tracking, and timely escalation.
  • Assess cross-initiative dependencies, resource and capacity considerations, roadmap impacts, and delivery health to support enterprise-level planning and trade-off decisions.
  • Reinforce a consistent focus on business value, strategic alignment, and measurable outcomes.

PMO Discipline & Practice Development:

  • Help develop, advance, and reinforce project, program, and portfolio management disciplines, standards, and quality expectations across the IT PMO.
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of scalable frameworks, playbooks, governance artifacts, and executive reporting practices that increase consistency without creating unnecessary administrative burden.
  • Promote modern, fit-for-purpose delivery approaches and recommend improvements to PMO practices based on organizational needs, lessons learned, and emerging industry practices.
  • Help define and consistently apply meaningful measures of initiative health, delivery confidence, value realization, and organizational readiness.
  • Reinforce disciplined risk, issue, dependency, decision, and change management across complex initiatives.

People Management & Capability Building:

  • Directly manage, coach, and develop project managers, setting clear expectations, reinforcing PMO standards, and supporting strong delivery outcomes across assigned initiatives.
  • Support capability building across the PMO through mentoring, knowledge sharing, targeted development, and consistent application of standards.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, collaboration, continuous improvement, and constructive challenge.
  • Support project managers and coordinators through complex stakeholder dynamics, delivery risks, resource constraints, and critical decisions.
  • Contribute to workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning as the PMO and organizational needs evolve.

Business & Operational Stewardship:

  • Partner with Finance, Procurement/VMO, Product, Delivery, and other functions to strengthen investment planning, vendor accountability, resource visibility, and execution readiness.
  • Provide oversight of budgets, forecasts, vendor commitments, and value delivery at the appropriate portfolio, program, or initiative level.
  • Ensure assigned initiatives operate in accordance with company policies and applicable compliance, audit, and regulatory expectations, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements where relevant.
  • Represent and support the IT PMO in executive, governance, planning, and cross-functional forums.
  • Perform additional strategic, governance, project management, and people leadership responsibilities as organizational priorities require.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience managing complex technology projects, programs, portfolios, transformation efforts, or strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with executives and senior leaders across business and technology functions.
  • Proven ability to support governance, influence without direct authority, resolve ambiguity, and align diverse stakeholders around shared outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of project, program, and portfolio management disciplines, with the judgment to tailor methods to the work rather than apply a one-size-fits-all process.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing project management professionals, with the ability to set direction, strengthen capability, and support consistent delivery practices.
  • Exceptional executive communication, facilitation, decision framing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to connect strategy, investment, risk, capacity, dependencies, and execution into a clear enterprise view.
  • Strong business acumen, organizational judgment, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience operating in Agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments.
  • PMP, PgMP, PfMP, or comparable professional certification preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a level 2 background check.
