Role Summary

The Manager, Data Insights is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable business insights that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, customer engagement, and operational excellence. This individual will partner across Retail, Marketing, Finance, Production, Merchandising, and Data & Analytics teams to uncover opportunities, evaluate performance, and support strategic decision-making.

They combine strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and storytelling skills, enabling them to translate data into clear recommendations that influence leadership decisions and drive measurable results. This role will also help develop analytical talent, advance reporting capabilities, and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to drive sales, profitability, and customer retention through data analysis.
• Analyze customer behavior, shopping patterns, assortment performance, pricing strategies, and promotional effectiveness.
• Conduct advanced analyses including basket composition, price elasticity, A/B testing, customer segmentation, and forecast performance evaluation.
• Develop hypotheses and business cases to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions.
• Create executive-ready presentations that clearly communicate trends, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
• Design, maintain, and continuously improve dashboards, scorecards, and self-service reporting solutions.
• Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and actionable insights.
• Support planning processes including forecasting, assortment strategy, promotional evaluation, and category reviews.
• Manage and develop analysts while fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Establish best practices for data analysis, reporting, and insight generation.
• Stay current on retail, consumer, and cannabis industry trends.
• Partner with Data & Analytics teams to identify new data sources, reporting enhancements, and automation opportunities.
• Improve efficiency and scalability of reporting processes through technology and process optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data analytics or insight roles
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Alteryx, Excel, and data visualization tools (Power BI and/or Tableau).
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of retail operations, product lifecycle management, pricing strategies, and promotional tactics.
• Analytical Expertise: Ability to perform sophisticated analysis and modeling to derive insights from complex datasets.
• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Flexibility of hours – some nights and weekends required.
• Must be able to pass a level 1 and level 2 background check and drug screening.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and able to pass an MVR check

Work Schedule

40+ hours weekly with flexible hours and travel up to 10% of work schedule to support the needs of the business.
