Marketing Specialist

Reports to: Competitive Intelligence & Activation Manager

Department: Southeast Marketing

Location: Remote, Candidate must live in Florida

FLSA Status: Exempt

Role Summary: 
This role supports the Marketing Manager in executing activations and maintaining visibility into the industry landscape. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage logistics, budgets, and reporting while coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Industry Landscape Research: Keep a pulse on landscape trends and shifts by tracking pricing, promotional activity, and competitive changes.
  • Activation Logistics & Execution: Assist in planning and executing activations, ensuring operational details are managed effectively.
  • Product Launch & Campaign Support: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to plan and execute strategies for product awareness and education—both internally and customer-facing.
  • Brand Awareness: Support initiatives to strengthen brand presence in the Florida market.
  • Vendor & Agency Coordination: Communicate with third-party agencies to coordinate event details and share logistics information.
  • Retail Team Communication: Work directly with retail teams to ensure clear visibility and understanding of activation details.
  • Merchandise Purchasing: Support purchasing of promotional merchandise for campaigns and activations.
  • Budget & Inventory Management: Submit purchase requests, track spend against budget, and manage inventory of event supplies.
  • Performance Reporting: Pull and analyze data to report on activation success and product launch performance using defined KPIs.
  • Asset & Content Support: Assist in submitting briefs for creative assets that communicate activations effectively.
  • Web & Event Listings: Submit web requests for blog posts and event listings to promote activations.
  • Material Transfers: Support requests for transferring swag & merch to retail sites as needed for activations, promotions, etc.
  • Project Support: Provide support to ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field required. 
  • 2+ years of working experience in marketing and/or marketing space 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; ability to multitask and effectively manage time. 
  • Stronger written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience writing creative briefs with the intention of translating business objectives into creative assets 
  • Previous experience managing events and marketing campaigns. 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, creative iterative process, and event planning. 
  • The ability to plan, execute, and analyze an overall marketing strategy including paid, earned, and owned media. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively with a variety of tasks and business partners (both internal and external partners); must be able to work cross-functionally with internal sales and operations teams to effectively generate, execute and report on marketing programs. 
  • Ability to interact with various levels of stakeholders and make decisions based on data and insights. 
  • Acute attention to detail; demonstrated ability for accuracy and thoroughness. 
  • Proven negotiation, problem-solving, organization and project management skills 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Smartsheets, Monday.com) 

Additional Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record. 
  • Must be able to pass a level 1 and level 2 background check and drug screening. 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties. 
  • Proven business thinker with solid strategic skills and capacity to understand business from a market, region, P&L, and product perspective. 
  • Professional team-player, collaborative, and open to feedback

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance 
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks 
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions 
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise) 
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure requirements of this position can be fully met. WORK SCHEDULE 

  • 45+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on store needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
