Job Title: Sr. IT Logistics Specialist

Department: Information Technology

Reports to:  IT Operations Manager

Site Hours: 40+

Location: North Monroe (onsite)

 

Role Summary:

 

The Sr. IT Logistics Specialist supports the growth and day-to-day operations of the IT Department by overseeing IT equipment inventory, asset tracking, logistics projects, and device repair and maintenance. Based in the greater Tallahassee area, this role leads and trains a team of IT Logistics Specialists and reports to the IT Operations Manager. The ideal candidate is committed to customer service, teamwork, security, and operational efficiency.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Under the direction of the IT Operations Manager, the Lead IT Logistics Specialist oversees purchasing and provisioning support and partners with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the timely, accurate delivery of IT equipment. Responsibilities include developing logistics plans, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, keeping accurate records in logistics systems, managing vendor relationships, evaluating transportation providers, resolving shipment issues, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and service.

 

The Lead IT Logistics Specialist is responsible for the following:

·         Warehouse Management

·         Manage inventory for IT equipment and devices—including laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, scanners, routers, switches, servers, and accessories—and ensure all items are properly stored, labeled, and organized.

·         Track assets using barcode scanners, RFID tags, and asset management software, and maintain accurate, current records and reports.

·         Coordinate the procurement, deployment, installation, configuration, maintenance, and disposal of IT equipment, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to requirements.

·         Coordinate the repair of damaged or malfunctioning devices and the disposition of obsolete equipment in accordance with quality, security, and established operational standards.

·         Prepare and image equipment to fulfill service ticket and project requirements.

·         Partner with vendors and internal teams to coordinate equipment orders, deliveries, and installations.

 

•     Team Leadership and Reporting

·         Lead and train IT Logistics Specialists, assign tasks and schedules, and monitor team progress and performance.

·         Provide regular updates to the IT Operations Manager, recommend process improvements, and escalate issues as appropriate.

·         Order IT equipment through SAP for projects, replacements, and service tickets, and verify that each item is received and delivered to the correct destination.

 

 

 

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

• At least two years of demonstrated experience using asset management software.

• Previous team management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and provide constructive feedback and guidance.

• Working knowledge of relevant IT equipment, devices, systems, and troubleshooting practices.

• Flexibility to travel, work onsite as needed, and adapt to changing work environments and priorities.

• Experience with SAP and/or forklift operation is preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 25 pounds to a height of at least 5 feet and move that weight at least 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods; maintain balance while climbing ladders or stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach; and frequently or continuously use the hands and fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick up, and pinch objects while completing tasks.
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily; wear appropriate personal protective equipment for the eyes, face, hands, arms, head, feet, body, and fall protection; and work in hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE, including temperatures of 95°F or higher.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity, with or without job aids, to read, view a computer screen, and inspect small parts and details, as well as clear distance vision at 20 feet or more in daylight, nighttime, and low-light conditions.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally at a conversational level with coworkers, vendors, and others in a moderately noisy environment.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Work 40 or more hours per week from the Tallahassee, Florida location, with flexibility based on department needs.
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Travel of approximately 20%–30% is expected.
