Executive Director, Marketing Strategy & Planning
Location: Must live in Tampa, FL or Tallahassee, FL

Position Summary:
The Executive Director, Marketing Strategy & Planning will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing a comprehensive marketing strategy that advances Trulieve’s business objectives. This role will balance strategic marketing expertise with analytical excellence, ensuring decisions are rooted in measurable insights and performance data. The Executive Director will lead initiatives that elevate brand visibility, deepen customer engagement, and drive sustainable growth, while establishing a culture of accountability through data-driven decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Lead the development of a holistic marketing strategy aligned with corporate goals and growth objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to integrate marketing priorities into enterprise-wide planning.
- Evaluate market dynamics, competitive intelligence, and emerging opportunities to inform strategy.
- Translate business objectives into marketing plans with clear KPIs, measurement frameworks, and ROI benchmarks.
Data-Driven Decision-Making
- Develop advanced analytics capabilities to measure, forecast, and optimize marketing performance.
- Establish and oversee marketing dashboards, reporting structures, and predictive models.
- Continuously analyze campaign and channel performance, applying insights to refine strategy and execution.
- Partner with finance and business intelligence teams to ensure marketing investments deliver measurable returns.
Campaign Development & Execution
- Direct the creation and execution of integrated, multi-channel campaigns focused on customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty.
- Provide guidance on media planning and performance marketing strategies, balancing creative innovation with measurable outcomes.
- Ensure brand positioning, storytelling, and creative assets resonate with target audiences while being validated through consumer research and performance metrics.
- Support regional and local market customization to strengthen brand relevance and drive growth across diverse geographies.
Leadership & Influence
- Serve as a senior advisor to executive leadership, providing market insights, performance analyses, and forward-looking recommendations.
- Mentor and develop the marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Build cross-functional alignment with retail sales, product development, cultivation, production, and other business units.
Customer & Experience Focus
- Oversee the end-to-end customer experience across all marketing touchpoints, ensuring consistency, impact, and measurable satisfaction.
- Establish customer-centric performance indicators tied to engagement, loyalty, and lifetime value.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years in senior marketing leadership roles with a proven track record in both strategy and analytics.
- Demonstrated success in leading integrated marketing campaigns and scaling data-driven marketing functions.
- Experience serving as a trusted partner to executive leadership and preparing for C-suite succession.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Deep expertise in marketing strategy, analytics, and execution, including brand positioning, consumer insights, and media planning.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and methodologies; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated strength in balancing creative brand-building with rigorous performance optimization.
- Strong command of financial modeling, ROI analysis, and forecasting in a marketing context.
- Versatility to shift between high-level strategic planning and detailed execution.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Innovative and creative mindset, with proven ability to drive both breakthrough ideas and measurable results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with advanced analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Google Analytics, SQL) a plus.
Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
