Director of Wholesale

 

Location: Remote (OH, WV, PA preferred)

Department: Retail

Reports to: Executive Director of Wholesale

 

Job Summary:

The Director of Wholesale NE will report to the Executive Director of Wholesale. They will lead growth within our existing multi-state and independent accounts. You will determine and measure KPIs to drive revenue and growth in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. This role will have direct reports. Partner with all leaders of the Wholesale Team, and work cross-functionally with the Planning, Operations, Finance, Brand, and Marketing teams to execute on our goals and promote Trulieve brands with external partners and consumers at point of sale.

Additionally, the Director will have a crucial role in the development and implementation of strategies aimed at establishing a highly successful wholesale team in the Northeast region. This team will be focused on expanding market shares in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for effectively developing and implementing promotional calendars.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to our growing team with regards to building relationships with buying and merchandising teams, driving revenue and margin goals, and executing promotional strategies within retail
  • Achieve sales, profit and inventory goals for all 3rd party retail partners
  • Develop strategic plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Build brand awareness and improve wholesale market positioning for all Trulieve brands: Roll One, Modern Flower, Cultivar Collection, Sweet Talk, Co2lors
  • Forecast accurately at the account and product level monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Manage funds and resources for the best return on marketing budgets
  • Responsible for the tactical, daily execution of the business including revenue, merchandising objectives, operational optimization, tracking spends to budget, and building customer relationships with all partners
  • Monitor customer sales and inventories by partnering with ownership and management and reviewing data analytics reporting
  • Execute plans regarding distribution, merchandising, pricing, and product placement

 

 

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of wholesale leadership experience, preferably in mass retail account management
  • 3-5 years prior experience working with cannabis industry MSOs preferred: Curaleaf, GTI, Terrascend, Pharmacann, Jushi, Jars, Verano, The Cannabist, Cresco
  • Ability to think creatively and develop long-term plans for partners, which maximize brand awareness, revenue, and profitability, while minimizing channel conflict and cannibalization
  • Diverse experience working with cross functional departments, including operations, marketing, production, logistics, and finance
  • Good customer and cross functional interface capabilities; excellent presentation and influencing skills
  • Ability to accurately forecast demand for sales and profit growth on a micro and macro level
  • Experience building performance marketing within retailer-owned media networks a strong plus

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
