Sr. Accountant 

 

Location: Must Live in Arizona / Hybrid 

Reports to: Accounts Receivable Manager  

 

Position Overview: 

Trulieve, a leading emerging growth company in the cannabis industry, is looking for an Accountant to fill a key role within the Wholesale Accounting team. The position will support various aspects of the department, oversee AR transactions and day-to-day financial operations of the company. The Sr Accountant will be responsible for all accounting functions related to the Trulieve’s operations in all regions. This will include oversight over Wholesale Transactions and customer account reconciliations and performing analysis on various reporting. The role will closely interface with functions across the organization and report to the Accounts Receivable Manger. This position is primarily remote but will require travel to the office twice a week and the preference is for this position to be located within Arizona to accommodate that. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Cash Application to customer receivable accounts and reconciling applications for accuracy may require follow-up with customers on AR balances via emails and phone calls 

  • Participate in month end close processes for assigned entities and accounts 

  • Prepare journal entries, as needed. 

  • Perform analysis and research of key accounts as needed. 

  • Assist in implementing, documenting and/or revising accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed in accordance with GAAP 

  • Participate in the company’s SOX compliance initiatives 

  • Assist in preparing supporting schedules for public company filings (10-Q and 10-K) 

  • Assist in data cleanup and other initiatives related to integration projects  

  • Other duties as assigned by AR Manager 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum 1- 2 years in Corporate/General Ledger Accounting, preferably in a mid-size to large private or public company 

  • Up to date with current GAAP accounting standards and experience with Sarbanes-Oxley preferred • Experience working with external auditors preferred 

  • Demonstrated success working both individually and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-oriented environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness 

  • Knowledge of accounting software and systems, particularly SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Adra are a big plus 

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to work effectively cross-functionally and with subsidiaries 

  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel 

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screening 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance 

  • Self-starter and able to quickly learn new responsibilities with high attention to detail required 

  • Public Accounting experience a plus 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
