JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Manager to oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities. You will be the one to ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to budget. 

 

A great maintenance manager will have a solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts. They will be well-versed in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have an aptitude for undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting etc. 

 

The goal is to ensure the company facilities are well cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations and rapid growth. 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop maintenance procedures (Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and SWI’s Standard Work Instructions (SWI’s)) and ensure implementation 
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues 
  • Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality 
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities 
  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.) 
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary 
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance 
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers 
  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities 
  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with 

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BS/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage 
  • 5 years maintenance manager experience 
  • Proven experience as maintenance manager or another managerial role 
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations 
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc. 
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment 
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities 
  • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA and WV)
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screening
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must have a valid State issued Driver’s License

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
